Tarek Fatah

Tarek Fatah, born on November 20, 1949, in Karachi, Pakistan, was a Canadian-Pakistani journalist, author, and political activist known for his outspoken views on Islam, secularism, and geopolitics. Fatah migrated to Canada in the 1980s and became a prominent voice in Canadian media and public discourse, advocating for liberal values, secularism, and free speech. He was widely recognized for his critiques of Islamist extremism, his strong opposition to Sharia law, and his calls for reforms within Muslim communities.

Fatah authored several books, including Chasing a Mirage: The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State and The Jew is Not My Enemy: Unveiling the Myths that Fuel Muslim Anti-Semitism, where he addressed issues of religious fundamentalism, identity politics, and global terrorism. Fatah's views were often polarizing, as he engaged in debates on topics related to Islam, Pakistan’s politics, and Indian geopolitics. He was a frequent guest on Indian news channels, where he provided commentary on South Asian affairs, often aligning with India’s stance on issues like Kashmir and cross-border terrorism.
